Owner. An emerging regional leader in the use of green building strategies to create pragmatic, cost effective projects. Developers of environmentally sensitive newly-built homes and scattered-site rehabs. Green homebuilders for clients in need of a custom home or major renovations. Development Manager. Managed the homeownership component of federally-subsidized HOPE VI redevelopment projects in Maryland and Pennsylvania, as well as privately financed market-rate infill and redevelopment projects in the Baltimore area. Managed or participated
in every stage of the development and redevelopment process, including
site selection, site research, market analysis, project financing, site
planning, architectural design, options pricing, legal drafting,
securing regulatory approval, overseeing construction, and sales and
marketing.

Program Manager. Intervened to resolve high-profile development conflicts across the state, such as the East Baltimore Biotechnology Park and controversial residential projects across the Eastern Shore.
Acted as an advisor to local elected officials, identifying specific
planning, zoning, and land use policies to achieve optimal growth
patterns and generate targeted revitalization. Advised developers in
how to preempt, manage, and respond to community concerns.
MARYLAND DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING, Baltimore, MD. 1999.
Smart Growth Researcher. Authored a report analyzing development patterns in Maryland
and proposing 140 statistical indicators to track the long-term
evolution of land use across the state. Developed systems for tracking
data and communicating information between state agencies.
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES, Annapolis, MD. 1997.
Legal Intern.
Assembled the Rural Legacy Program, a $70 million grant program funding
targeted land acquisition across the state through coordinated fee
simple and easement purchases. Contributed significantly to the design
of the program, drafted the original state regulations, and co-authored
the application manual.
